Temporary Computer Science Teacher Needed

Hartford Union High School (Hartford WI) is looking for someone to teach computer science courses beginning January 19, 2018. A teacher’s licensure is not required as the individual would be supervised by a math instructor. If interested, contact Jon Duhr,

Student Programmer Needed

Office: Career & Leadership Development (UC-146). Target Start Date: February 19, 2018. Seeking a student pursuing an IT or Computer Science major with 45-90 credits to fill a Student Programmer position in the Career & Leadership Development Office.

Duties include maintaining and upgrading established programs, as well as assisting with the development of various reports.  This would be an ideal job for someone looking for a few hours of work a week.

Having knowledge or background in Access, Visual Basic, SQL and PHP is a plus.  Ability and willingness to learn quickly will also be considered.

Computer science lecture

Assistant Professor Zachary Oster of the Department of Computer Science will speak about software design on Wednesday, Nov. 15, specifically on the issue of how to reconcile differences in priorities between different audiences using the software. His talk at 12:30 p.m. in McGraw 122 will include projects he has worked on with UW-Whitewater students.

We are bidding a fond farewell to our class of 35 Spring 2017 graduates today at 12:30 p.m. in Heide Hall, Room 100. Please join us! There will be a potluck lunch provided by the faculty and staff. We are also taking a few minutes to say goodbye to our faculty member, Cheng Thao who will be leaving for new opportunities in Minnesota.
