Junior System Administrator, INOC

Position Description

 INOC is a fast growing IT services company specializing in providing 24×7 Network Operations Center (NOC) services. Our clients include large Enterprise, Telecommunication, and Cable companies. INOC NOC services enable organizations to add highly effective 24×7 support to their IT / Network operations.

We have an immediate staff position available for a Junior System Administrator in our Systems and Development group. The position requires an experienced individual to support and grow our internal and external facing corporate server infrastructure. We are looking for a person with a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of Linux operating system and distributions. The position will be a key contributor to our team.

 Title: Junior System Administrator

Responsibilities

The Junior System Administrator’s key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Systems Administrator with managing, maintaining and documenting of INOC’s systems environment for internal corporate server infrastructure and external iMonitor (INOC’s proprietary software) server infrastrucuture
  • Design and develop systems support mechanisms, procedures and processes
  • Work with INOC’s partners and clients to maintain remote systems
  • Work closely with and provide regular updates to all other groups in INOC
  • Available for off-hours support and on-call rotation
  • Advise, support and work in a team environment with other groups at INOC and with clients;
  • Achieve and maintain technical certifications as necessary
  • Assist with iMonitor platform development and deployment
  • Assist with iMonitor feature development

Qualifications

Minimum Required

  • Solid understanding of Linux operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, file system concepts (“inode”, “superblock”). Understanding of internals of Linux kernel is a plus and ability to debug a kernel level problem
  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Windows workstations, Active Directory Services, Microsoft Windows applications
  • Understanding of host-based and network-based security issues
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them

 Additional

  • A degree in computer science or related field is preferable
  • Independent problem solving; self-direction
  • Self-starter with good work ethic; commitment to deadline
  • Eye for detail and accuracy very important
  • Team player who works well with others
  • Excellent communication & documentation skills
  • Writing purchase justifications, training users in different topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.
  • Professional appearance and attitude, positive, friendly personality

 Location and Work Schedule

The person will work out of our Madison, WI location. This is a full-time permanent position.

 Compensation

Commensurate with experience.

Technical Director Job Description

The Technical Director has a variety of job requirements. They are responsible for keeping the electronic access list up to date. eAccess is required to get into not only Jitters but also Jitter’s kitchen. Another job responsibility of the Technical Director is adding any new products or modifying products located on the cash register. The Technical Director is also responsible for managing the access list on the cash register. The list includes: student name, ID number, register ID number and their current 4 digit pin. The Technical Director has the responsibility of managing the Lyrics List Manager as well as the Jitters blog. Manage the Jitters Facility Reservation Request survey and Events Calendar.
